“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
– Frederick Douglas
“Marginalized families are in the lowest income bracket, they have lower rates of life expectancy, a higher incidence of health problems, including high mortality rates, and they are more poorly nourished than the rest of the population. But despite all their struggles, parents in the poorest societies in the world wish to invest in their children’s education. That is their first priority when they are asked what it most important to them.” – Villa Kulild, Director-General of Norad, on the role of education in ending extreme poverty.
UNESCO has also stated that education is vital in stopping the transmission of poverty between generations. Education is able to break the cycle of chronic poverty – in a sustainable way.
Spring Rain Global and our Philanthropic Development Offices (PDOs) have been taking significant steps to combat poverty around the world, by bringing education to the poor communities. However, the current COVID-19 pandemic has caused many marginalized families to recede further into poverty, resulting in millions of children being pulled out of schools and pushed into child labour.
Our CareFor2020 Campaign aim is to ensure underprivileged children continue to receive quality and relevant education in the midst of this crisis, as well as get access to the opportunities that can change the course of their lives after they complete their education.
Your contribution can help to transform their lives and shape their future in the right way, enabling these children to thrive and have a better chance of building a successful life.
