Care For The Sick Fund
Camillus Medhaven High Care Unit
The Camillus Medhaven is a Senior Living Community run and owned by the Order of the Ministers of the Sick, popularly known as Camillians. In Camillus Medhaven, the concept is to categorized residents by care instead of a generic room so that each program can be tailored to fit the needs of residents.
The Skilled Nursing (High Care) category serves residents who are bedridden and needing high nursing care. This includes those with a colostomy, stroke, dependent on ADL, and those under convalescent, palliative and hospice care.
The Philippines suffers from an average of 21 typhoons annually. These typhoons very often led to power interruptions, some of which can take a significant time to repair.
The patients in nursing homes, especially those needing high care assistance, are exposed to great risks during such power interruptions.
This project aims to purchase 1 unit of re-conditioned 20 KVA power generator including the housing unit (275,000 Php), and the necessary electrical works for the backup power source to function (175,000 Php).
The objectives are:
- To offer an uninterrupted cooling system to residents of Medhaven during power interruption, thus providing them comfort and safety against molds from humidity.
- To offer uninterrupted nursing care to residents under the high-care unit who will be needing equipment such as suction machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrator etc.
- To offer uninterrupted operations of kitchen and laundry services
