We cannot control and predict the unforeseen occurrence of calamities that cause havoc and harm to many people, especially to those who live in the streets, the disabled, and the poorest of the poor. Calamities bring damage – emotionally, mentally, and physically – and if they are recurring frequently, they can put a strain on people’s lives.

It is a sudden event that causes great extents of damage, multiple deaths, and suffering to many people. We cannot stop it, but we can help by providing relief goods during these uncertain times. We become “the light of the world”; the light that shines in the life of the least, lost and last.

The beneficiaries of the program will be 9,195 households from the following barangays or villages in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, Philippines:

Program Implementation:

There will be provision of immediate relief food package to affected households – in the identified barangays or villages in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, Philippines – in order to address their basic food requirements during the quarantine period, when they do not have any source of income.

The food packs will augment the basic needs of the poorest of the poor in the parish at a time when they have no livelihood or source of income due to the enhanced community quarantine. Each relief pack consists of 10 kilos of rice, 5 packs of noodles, 5 canned goods, ¼ kilo of dried fish, 6 eggs and other personal necessities. The approximate amount of each relief pack for each household is PHP 1,160.22. The total amount is PHP 10,668,200.00 for 9,195 households.
