The Passionist Philanthropic Development Office (PDO) believes that every person should enliven the passion of Christ with strong determination and commitment to uphold the passion of Christ in the hearts of the people and the needy. They envision a dedicated journey by people and organizations keeping alive the passion of Christ by being an instrument of God’s community.

Being based out of General Santos City, South of Cotabato, most of what the Passionist Fathers earn as a congregation are poured into helping the Indigenous People’s Ministry such as education, community building, housing, and more. However, for the COVID-19 pandemic, the Passionist PDO’s immediate response was relief for the 27,586 Families from various locations in the Province through their communities.

While their parishes and formation houses offered online masses for the faithful, some of their communities prepared relief food packs, while others were already in their second and third wave of relief giving. It is obvious though, that their capacity to give is limited by the donations received.

Program Implementation:

For immediate response, the Passionist PDO is performing relief operations through the various parishes under our congregation. Our relief operations vary in needs, but for the most part, we have prepared food packs filled with rice, sardines, noodles, and other canned goods we find available in nearby food markets to serve thousands of families, teachers, and daily wage earners who lost their livelihood from various communities we host.

Aside from the food relief operations, we have also gathered some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to provide for the Philippine National Police department here in our cities and a couple of hospitals.

We have segregated our distribution into 4 communities with a great number of indigent families, which are all under our parishes’ scope and vicinity.
